Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in thematic learning outcomes of Civics Education content for students at SMP Negeri 1 Paranginan in the 2018/2019 semester II between learning using the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model and those using the Group Investigation type cooperative learning model. This study uses the quast experimental method or quasi-experimental. The sample of this study was 100 students who were taken randomly. Learning outcomes data were collected using multiple choice tests. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and using t-test. The results showed that: (1) there were differences in the learning outcomes of PKN students who were taught using the Think Pair Share learning model. (2) The learning outcomes of students who follow the Think Pair Share learning model are higher than students who follow the Group Investigation model. (3) the difference can be seen from the thematic learning outcomes scores of the Civics content of students obtained tcount (2.130), while ttable (1.66055) at a significance of 5%. The results of these calculations indicate that tcount is greater than ttable (2.130>1.66055). The existence of a significant difference indicates that the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model has an effect on students' thematic learning outcomes of Civics content compared to the Group Investigation type cooperative learning model.
